Hydro-fracturing of a borehole is a process by which water is forced into low yielding boreholes at a high pressure and volume, a procedure designed to increase the amount of water in an existing dry and low yielding borehole. The theory is to open up and clean out the existing fractures found in the rock lithology of the borehole.

Typically, a borehole will be scoped with a down hole camera to determine if the process is viable prior to the beginning of the process.
